Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Aria desktop application and to the services around it: this website, the download service, and the update service (together, "Aria"). By downloading, installing or using Aria you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Aria.

1. The software and its license

The Aria application is free of charge and its source code is published under the MIT License. The MIT License, not these terms, governs your rights to use, copy, modify and redistribute the software itself. These terms govern the services listed above and your use of the packaged application we distribute.

2. Your content

Everything you edit with Aria is yours. Aria processes your media on your own machine, claims no rights over your footage, your projects or your exports, and does not receive them. You are responsible for having the rights to the material you edit and for what you do with what you export, including sounds, stickers, fonts and other assets whose licenses may impose their own conditions.

3. The download and update services

We distribute builds of Aria through this website and check for updates from inside the app. You agree not to abuse these services: no scraping the download endpoints at scale, no attempting to gain access to other people's data, and no interfering with their operation. We may change, suspend or discontinue these services at any time; the software already on your machine remains yours to use under its license.

4. Accounts and email

Downloading may ask for an email address or a Google or Apple sign-in. You agree to provide an address you control. How we handle it is described in the Privacy Policy. There is no account to maintain and nothing to cancel; you can unsubscribe from any mail with one click.

5. Local intelligence and connected agents

Optional features such as transcription, translation and face detection download open models that run on your machine, each subject to its own license shown at install time. If you connect third-party AI tools or agents to Aria, your use of those tools is governed by their terms, and their output is your responsibility to review. Aria executes the edits an agent asks for on your machine, under your undo history.

6. No warranty

Aria is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Video editing involves large files and real deadlines; keep backups of footage and projects that matter to you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors, copyright holders and operators of Aria shall not be liable for any claim, damages or other liability, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, arising from or in connection with Aria or its use, including lost footage, lost projects, lost profits or lost time. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for Aria, which is zero.

8. Changes and termination

We may update these terms; the current version is always at this address, with its effective date above. Material changes will be noted in the app's changelog. We may refuse the services described here to anyone who abuses them. You may stop using Aria at any time.

9. Contact and disputes

Questions about these terms go to hello@ariaeditor.com. These terms are governed by the law of the operator's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes belong to the courts of that place, except where the law of your country of residence grants you protections that cannot be waived.
